You Have So Much Support for Positive Change.
Welcome to Week 1 of The Colors of Your Week Kit for January 1-7, 2018 The first week of the year is like a blueprint of what’s to come, so this is possibly the most important Colors of the Week report for the year! Based on this report, there’s every reason to feel optimistic about 2018! Your mantra for this year is: Anything is possible, and I’m open to the possibilities! The theme for this year is: Upgrade. This is year is all about loving yourself, every move and decision should come from a place of kindness, compassion, care. Give to yourself all the beautiful things you give so easily and willingly to others, the time is ripe to include yourself in all that love. Give with abandon to yourself! If you’re willing to move fast, this is the week for you...and, I’d say this week is not for sissies! But if you can embrace the wisdom shared here and act on it, things will move. Here’ we go, Monday and Tuesday, we are being directly called on to face our shadow selves. What does this mean, exactly? It’s time to take an inventory of where you may be stuck in false negativity:
All this craziness, or darkness is your own shadow pressing in (and possibly creating chaos in your life) while calling for your loving acknowledgment. Take a step back and view these behaviors and feelings as if there were coming from a confused child…and move compassionately from there. Remember that children do not know any better and react instinctively. How can you teach yourself (as the child) how to better manage these overwhelming feelings? (Quick recommendation here: The Case of the Missing Sparkle takes you on an inner journey of healing. Also, it’s free.) Set an intention to stop justifying, to absolutely be seen and forgive yourself and have compassion because you didn’t know any better! Wow! Powerful start there! (this is just for Monday and Tuesday) Don’t forget to celebrate yourself and your willingness to change and improve! You’ve got this! Midweek is a much different vibe. It’s like the exhale to the beginning of the week, where we can stop, look around and start to sincerely clear things out we no longer need (and this can be mental, emotional and physical garbage and debris). Whatever form it takes, and it may take all three, this is the time to sort, sift, and declutter… you’ll know what areas need it the most. Don’t be afraid to let things go that you’ve been holding onto for a very long time (even when you knew they were worthless or unneeded). There’s no better time than now to take an honest inventory of anything that’s blocking you in anyway in any area of your life and find the power and strength to clear it. When we let go of anything willingly, it energetically creates a vacuum which draws things towards you, so build off what you learned at the beginning of the week and use the supportive energy now to set some positive and powerful intentions for change. Finally, beginning Friday through Sunday, we are encouraged to BE OURSELVES. What does that mean? First look around and see where you’re maybe not being yourself or even where life has pigeonholed you into a role that stifles and overshadows the true you. You know you’re more than “mom”, “friend”, “boss” or any other label someone else sees you as, and now’s the time to breakthrough those limiting and prejudged stereotypes! Stand up, be you, stop participating in any ways that keep the labels alive (you know what those behaviors are). Trust that you can do this. You have every right and the energy supports you to connect with the people around you authentically as your own gorgeous, unique and beautiful self, while knowing deep within that all is well. Adding to the intensity of this week is the Super-Moon on Monday, which acts as a magnifier for all we do this week, it’s a super booster for change in where ever you put your attention. P.S. The Colors of Your Week - December 25-31, 2017Here we go! Happy Holidays, gang!
Have you been wondering about how to tell someone something? Or wishing you could really be honest with someone close to you? Do you yearn to speak your feelings without worrying about how the other person might feel? This is your week, cutie! The week starts off with such beautifully supportive energy for being honest with yourself and someone close to you. Now is the time to speak your truth! How awesome is that!? Holding on to our feelings never really helps, bottling them up can lead to all sorts of problems over the long term. The good news is that the time is right to share honestly and trust that you will be heard and honored (and start by hearing and honoring yourself!) If talking seems like too much, you can write a letter, journal or maybe sit down and do some left handed coloring...let yourself go and see what comes up! You might be surprised! Also The Missing Sparkle book does a great job of taking you on an introspective journey, if you haven’t tried it yet, this might be a great week to give it a shot (and it’s free)! The cool thing about the beginning of this week (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, if you celebrate these holidays) are ripe with support for you to GET REAL with your feelings and EXPRESS them. The energy has your back and this may be the very best time to look someone you care about in the eyes and tell them how you really feel. Very exciting! As we move past Christmas and into mid-week, the energy becomes a dreamy, expansive and fun, which is a great for moving out of 2017 and into the new year. Take time now to do a little dreaming...what can you imagine for the year ahead? Even more importantly, how do you feel when you imagine your dream coming true? Imagining your dreams coming true is fabulous, and immersing yourself in how that makes you feel is a powerful component of creating your dreams. Feelings magnify what we desire. Not only that, IT’S FUN! Allow yourself to dream big right now... the sky really is the limit and anything is possible. Don’t worry about how it might happen, just believe in the possibility! Have fun! The last weekend of the year is a great time for grounding and looking back and the energy now is all about taking time to reflect on all that’s happened to bring you to this place now in time! Incredible, isn’t it? Let the gratitude flow for all you did to get you where you are and for all the help you had now and in the past, even going so far as to thank your ancestors. The time is right now for writing a letter of gratitude for the year that’s gone past and all the help you’ve received, as well as letting go of what no longer serves. Say thank you, say farewell and say hello to the New Year with open arms by setting your intentions (remember all those dreams you just got done working with a couple days earlier), now’s your chance to set yourself up for success for the year ahead. Lots of Potential for a Shift Ahead! The Colors of Your Week December 18-24, 201712/17/2017 Check out the colors for this week … bold, bright, decisive! The week starts with detaching from drama. What’s going in your life right now that if you could just pull back from it and let it move on its own, would probably resolve at a much quicker pace? There’s a favorite saying I have, which is “what resists, persists and what you focus on grows.” That is so true, where you put your focus is what will move…so are you focusing on what supports you or are you right there stuck in the thick of all your drama? The good news is that you are supported to put that stuff down, turn another way, look at other options (and there’s always other options, no matter what you might have thought). So, go for it, drop it, leave it, set it down, surrender and re-focus and re-set your priorities and watch the drama fade away. One thing is for certain, the amount of drama in your life is equal to the attention placed on it. Refocus! You’ve got this! That’s for sure, because the mid-week energy is all about finding and saying your NO (which is something The Coloring Book Coach is all about!) Maybe some of the drama comes from not being able to achieve the respect and acknowledgement you desire and deserve, or through unnecessary power struggles with authority figures, or by feeling others are trying to control you, or maybe you’re just at your limit - feeling resentful and needing a break! If any of that sounds even remotely familiar, it’s crucial you find your NO (refer to The Coloring Book Coach’s helpful blog: 25 Ways to Say No), which provides you with easy directions and examples on how you can stand up for yourself and say no. You’ll be surprised when you find out how many issues in your life can be resolved by finding that NO! Many times, your troubles are directly connected to being unable to set limits that work for you. The time is supportive now for you to stand with authority in your own life! This is exciting! This week is about doing some heavy work by letting go of drama and saying no, the weekend reminds us to make no judgments. If you have drama in your life and you’re unable to say no, sometimes your default reaction is judgment and self-righteousness, which does not serve. If you’re feeling angry, irritated, superior and judgmental at the people around you, now is the time to refrain and retrain the mind to be open to all and stop seeing others as wrong just because they don’t believe what you believe. Pull back and go neutral…. look at anything you are judging like a stranger in a strange land who has no idea of what’s going on or how it should be. You might be surprised at what you can learn! The other important point here, is that if you are judging others, you are most likely judging yourself. You have permission and support to STOP THAT RIGHT NOW. This is a very powerful week… the message is clear: the energy is here to support you in making some powerful changes by detaching from drama; finding your honest no and standing by it; and pulling back your judgments so you can see things more clearly. This is a very exciting week filled with so much potential for positive things to happen for you, but, as usual, you will have to make the first move! Have a great week, cuties! There is nothing fun about a grump during the holidays. In the middle of all the tasks that must be done, I can’t blame you for losing your cool now and then. That is why I created this list of 10 sure fire mood changers that your family will appreciate. Distracting yourself, even for 10 minutes can rescue the entire day. Below you will find 10 suggestions you can use right now to fight the stress Grinches threatening your holiday fun.
There are 5 ideas for when you have the luxury of a lot of time and 5 for when your schedule is full and squeezing a moment of relief feels impossible. If you have 30 minutes or more: 1. Color with your left hand! Shameless endorsement here: You’ve Got This Superwoman, an empowering coloring book journal is just right for this. Pick a white page, grab your favorite coloring tools and go to town using only your left hand. Go a little crazy! If you go outside the lines, so what? Work it! Let the stress flow away as the colors appear! 2. Take an Epsom salt bath. Use 2 full cups of salt (lavender scented if you can find it, or you can add your own Lavender Essential Oil) Epsom salt is inexpensive and you can find it at just about anywhere...it’s often with the medical supplies. It’s a great way to destress because it literally pulls the stress out of you by detoxifying your tissues. If you’ve been super stressed and anxious, put your head under...let it work it’s magic on your brain. To enhance this whole experience, I recommend candles and calming music and a bath of at least 30 minutes or more. When you drain the bath water, make a clear intention to LET GO of whatever is ready to go. Allow the Universe to bring thoughts and people to your mind and feel their energy go down the drain with the water. Then take a cool refreshing shower and rinse off all the residue, salt and energetic. Breathe deeply and own your new energy. 3. Journal! Write, write and write some more! (If you have You’ve Got This, Superwoman, use it! If not, any notebook will do!) Don’t hold back, put it all out on paper... all the stresses, frustrations, misunderstandings, anxiety...whatever is on your mind, dump it all here. You’ll be amazed at how much better you’ll feel when it’s all over. If it’s something that you don’t need anymore... rip it out and rip it up or maybe even burn it! 4. If you’re a Clubhouse member, you can listen to previous teleseminars which are each about 30 minutes long and filled with tips and tools to help you manage your life without pinching someone’s head off. Bonus points for stress control if you do this while taking a walk, exercising or coloring! Double bonus points if you’ve joined the Clubhouse, which is an automatic way to help destress. 5. Let yourself go and enjoy a holiday movie... set some time aside and lose yourself in a good movie. I highly recommend the Hallmark channel movies. They show people dealing with challenging situations and stress with grace, ease and compassion. No one gets too angry and if they do, they take responsibility and apologize. It’s a great way to see what our own potential is in managing our emotions and also a fun escape for a couple of hours. (If seeing holiday movies reminds you of sad holidays in the past, pick a comedy, any comedy. Laughter is really the fastest way to shift your mood. If you have 30 minutes or less: 1. Color (with your dominant or non-dominant hand). You can work a lot of stress quickly by choosing the black background pages in You’ve Got This, Superwoman. It’s easy to color in less than 30 minutes..non-dominant hand is still recommended for fastest results! 2. Start your day off in a good mood by setting your alarm clock to your favorite dance song... I love “Happy” by Pharell Williams or “We’re All in This Together” Sam Roberts Band....those two get me up and moving and it’s hard to focus on stress when you’re boogieing your way to the bathroom! lol Try it and let me know if you don’t find yourself smiling! If you have a song that makes you happy and gets you moving in the morning, please share it here in the comments. 3. Breathe - you can try the 4-7-8 technique recommended by Dr. Andrew Weil. This is a great one to do if you have trouble falling asleep at night or anytime when things are feeling a bit out of control. It’s easy, quick and no one needs to know that you’re destressing. 4. Use the Superwoman pose to increase confidence and decrease stress and anxiety. It only takes 2 minutes for your nervous system to shift and for you to feel better when you do this! (Describe this pose here.) 5. Be your own cheerleader. Sure it is nice to have someone pat your back and tell you how awesome you are, but sometimes there is no one there to encourage you! Cheering yourself up is easier than you think. Put up sticky notes reminding yourself of just how awesome you are (or cut out pages from You’ve Got This, Superwoman and stick them up around the house). Stop when you see a mirror and really look into your own eyes and tell yourself that you’ve got this, you’re wonderful and you love you! It only takes a second to acknowledge your beautiful self, so go for it the next time you see a mirror! Remember, we are all in this together. The Colors of Your Week - December 11-17, 2017The Colors of Your Week - December 11-17, 2017 The week starts off with you standing tall, strong and firm as you laugh at your demons (I know, right! What a way to begin a week!) On the other hand, better to laugh, then go to battle! Laughter implies that you don’t care, you’ve detached, and you are so over this bullsh*t! The energy at the beginning of this week is offering you just the right amount of support and courage to do so. The key to this is focusing on where you are miserable right now, even though that sounds crazy.
The best thing now is to trust that everything will resolve in the right time. Let go of heavy judgments and focus on what feels good and makes you smile and even better, laugh! Align with your higher self and trust that you’ve got this. Once we’re laughing and letting go, we’re ready to embrace the energy of midweek, which encourages you to reach for the stars (and it should be a lot easier, now that we’ve put down the heavy stuff that’s been holding us back!) Now is the time to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and go for it by keeping your mind focused on your highest dreams, while knowing you deserve them to come true! Stay positive, stay open, don’t allow yourself to be swept away by any negative emotions. Claim what’s yours and go for it! You know what you want and now is a great time to set a firm intention that you shall have it! The weekend is surprising! It’s like a bookend for how we started this week… with the energy again shifting to support you in facing your adversaries. Wowser! (It makes even more sense now why I chose this artwork before tuning into what was going on.) Embrace your bad ass and beautiful self. What you want to look at here is:
Really look at the facts and try to understand your motives and the motives of any others involved. Watch for self-judgment and avoid self-righteousness. Get clear before making your stand. There’s always two sides to every story and one of them is yours… are you seeing it clearly? (If you’re having trouble figuring something out, check in with a friend whom you trust or hit REPLY here. It’s a powerful week if we embrace what’s being offered, there’s a chance to create true and lasting change and see our dreams start to become more of a reality, but it’s going to take a little bit of work and showing up on our end! Things could really start moving for you this week! We’re spring boarding off the energy Sunday’s Super Moon*, which holds an energy of reset and renew, but you will have to take action. That’s the thing about the universe, it’s like a mirror…reflecting back to you what you put out to it. The beginning of the week starts off with strong support for standing by your commitments (if something just popped into your mind, that’s probably it).
If there’s something you’ve promised to someone else or more importantly to yourself, NOW is the time to keep that promise. This is not about beating yourself up or feeling guilty, it’s just an awesome time to stand by what you’ve committed to that’s positive for you and know you’ve got the universe’s support energetically, so go for it! Moving into midweek, we shift to a more creative vibe. You may have a new idea or insight that solves something for you, this may directly follow you creating positive support by standing by your commitments… once you start making moves, the universe moves with you! If you’ve been working on something, don’t give up, you’re on the right path! The energy this weekend is ripe for setting and magnifying your intentions! You’ve taken some action and are standing by your commitments, ideas are happening, and the time is right now to narrow down your focus and set some powerful intentions. If you've never worked directly with intentions, no worries, while a goal focuses on a concrete desired outcome, intentions are more about the energy underneath them. For instance, my goal is to drive from Boston to New York, my intention is to have a safe, easy, fun trip. (Do you see the difference here?) Intentions encompass the energy around the goal and are almost like a promise or contract between yourself and the universe. It’s fun to set intentions and see what happens!
